Behind The Scenes
This past month I had the opportunity to shoot for one of my favorite magazines! I was honored to be featured on the November cover of Competitor Magazine, with the theme being “night running.” As we go into these chilly months and prep for days that become dark FAR too early….Competitor will give you all the deets on night running; The importance of wearing reflective gear, being prepared, and brightening yourself up as a runner in the dark. There are so many companies creating top of the line night running gear, so spending the extra dollar is worth it.
For this night shoot, our setting was downtown San Diego….and I got to sport some rockin’ reflective gear. Seen on the cover, the Brooks Equilibrium LS II long-sleeve shirt, New Balance Impact Tight (super cute zipper detail at bottom of the tight), and New Balance glow in the dark 1400 lightweight training shoes. I literally felt like I was glowing —- so many bright colors to keep me safe.
It was a pleasure to work with the talented Scott Draper — as I have been inspired by much of his work over the years. And of course special thanks to the rest of the crew and art director Julika Kade for featuring me!
Here’s a little glimpse of our wrap shot —- yes they are all trying to imitate my awesome stretches. It was a late night, but so worth it to see the final product hit the shelves! Cheers to many night runs and please support Competitor by subscribing digitally or hitting your local shop to pick up a hard copy. Stay safe out there —- BE BRIGHT, and BE AWARE of your surroundings.
XO,
Danielle
